Joint Birthday Celebration

The Pattaya Orphanage celebrated birthdays of all the children, our former president Bishop Emeritus Lawrence Thienchai Samanchit, our former board member Rev. Joseph Chalerm Kitmongkol, our director Rev. Michael Weera Phangrak, and all the children.. It was an auspicious event because relatives of Fr. Michael marked his 7 cycles of birthday with their special gathering, the Eucharistic celebration, the Chinese-style dinner, and many presents. There were 10 fabulous stage performances, well enjoyed by all the participants..

..Representatives of preschoolers and school-aged kids of the Pattaya Orphanage, accompanied by their caregivers, visited Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort, Pattaya, and sang Christmas carols as a way to share their joy and fun with the management, staff members, and customers of the Resort.. May each and every one of you be abundantly blessed with excellent health, progress in life, and fulfillment during this festive season and throughout the New Year 2025..

Football Techniques

During this week, a group of school aged children at the Pattaya Orphanage had safe, fun, and engaging football training sessions with England FA and Udemy certified coach Leon Lewis, who dedicatedly supported them in the upgrade of their skills. Khun Leon also provided the trainees with equipment and left them behind for their continued drills. Our trainees represented all of us in the expression of thankfulness and best wishes to the coach.

A Trip to Khao Kheow Open Zoo

Children in three levels of early childhood education from Sotpattana School for the Deaf and Pattaya Orphanage, accompanied by some of the parents, teachers and caregivers, traveled to Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi for a study tour. The preschoolers had a wonderful morning starting from the trip on a big bus, the sight of different animals and their nature, esp. the famous pigmy hippo Moo Deng, the feeding of elephants and giraffes, all of which helped broaden their views and enrich their experiences.. Grateful thanks to Holborn Assets, represented by Khun Michael Christofis, for the support to this program..

Honorary Doctorates

Sotpattana School for the Deaf was very proud of our administrators, i.e. Rev. Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak, the School’s Acting Licensee and Manger, as well as Mrs. Angkana Kamnoedthon, the School Director, when the European International University (EIU), Paris, led by Founder and Director General Dr. Edward Roy Krishnan, awarded them the Honorary Doctorates and the front of our school became the venue of the degree conferral event. Fr. Michael was honored with a Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa (Litt.D., h.c.) which is a distinguished honorary degree awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to society, particularly in the humanities and public service. Unlike academic doctorates earned through research and scholarship, this degree honors a recipient’s lifelong achievements, societal impact, and dedication to human welfare and culture. It is among the highest honors an institution can bestow, celebrating the broad influence and profound legacy of the recipient in their respective field. Director Angkana was at the same occasion, awarded with a Doctor of Humanitarian Service in Special Education, Honoris Causa, (D.H.S.Ed., h.c.), which is an honorary degree recognizing individuals for their outstanding contributions to special education, particularly in humanitarian efforts. It honors the recipient’s dedication to enhancing the lives and educational opportunities of students with special needs, emphasizing their commitment to compassion, service, and advocacy. On this occasion, the EIU presented Dr. Maurice Dimmock with a trophy and appreciation for his support. Dr. Krishnan also marked his upcoming birthday anniversary with a presentation of his cheque to our school. Many happy returns of the day to you.. Thanks and best wishes to you, your EIU Team, and all concerned..
