Makha Bucha Day 2024

All the preschool children of the Pattaya Orphanage offered alms to monks at Wat Nong Ao Buddhist Temple in Central Pattaya to mark the upcoming Makha Bucha Day 2024. Blessing of Kindergarten

Following the major renovation of the 2-storey preschool building, young occupants and caregivers have returned to use their beautiful and spacious bedrooms, classrooms, and multi-purpose area. Since the project has been completed, the building fully equipped and ready for use in the year the Pattaya Orphanage celebrates our 50th anniversary, Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier blessed the building with the presence of children from toddler’s age and older, as well as our staffers and our Deaf School teachers. Our special guest was Khun Didier Moly of Les Amis de l’Orphelinat de Pattaya while on his annual visit to Thailand and honored us by cutting the ribbon at the official opening of the kindergarten. At the end, the preschool kids proudly presented a dance with song accompaniment for all participants. We are very grateful to our supporters, both individuals and organizations/business companies, for monetary and material contributions. Thanks to all, including our contractor Veerasin Tharasin of VS-Tech Co., Ltd. who charged nothing for himself but tried to save cost, wisely use the available resources, and ensure building users enjoy the practicality.. May each and every one of you be blessed in abundance..

Skills Upgrading for Caregivers

Twenty-six caregivers at the Pattaya Orphanage, who care for three groups of children aged between 0 and 6 years old, joined the upskills sessions on Prevention of Accidents in Children in Early Childhood with Paul Somkiat Potiverayut, our registered nurse and head of organization development at our small meeting room during the period of one week. Participants also reviewed their knowledge in the Five Dimensions of Child Development for a better understanding and practical use in their service for the little ones. Minced Pork on Toast

On weekends, there are more regular special cooking sessions introduced to the primary school level kids.. Teacher Nat led the lesson on deep fried minced pork on toast for the enthusiastic children who took part in different steps.. Enjoying Dolphin Show

Thirty-two preschool kids of the Pattaya Orphanage, accompanied by 17 caregivers led by Fr. Francis Xavier Kritsada Sukkaphat, had a wonderful and happy afternoon at the Pattaya Dolphinarium for the first time, sponsored by Mr. Konrad & Mrs. Monika Spaengler, who came along to the great shows and gave a treat of ice cream at the end.. Double Jelly

For this weekend, kids in primary school level at the Pattaya Orphanage learned from Teachers Nat and Tiew to prepare a simple but delicious dessert, i.e. double jelly, from UHT milk, jelly powder, and Pipo fruit-flavored jelly.. Children were interested in all the steps of the activity and took pride in their participation as well as their own delicious product.. Thanks to our resource persons..

13 Graduates

Sotpattana School for the Deaf congratulated 13 students who completed their early childhood education at the end of 2023 academic year on 9th February 2024.  Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier Kritsada Sukkaphat, the School Board Member and Deputy Director of the Pattaya Orphanage, handed certificates to Chatmongkhon Chua-Ngoen, Ketsada Khemvacharalerd, Kanyaphak Khomuang, Phiphatphong Hoprasert , Jirawat Taengthai, Chonlada Laengla, Phiraphat Burakhon, Freya Parima Purtschert, Pratsanee Sukjaroen, Dhanawat Ngamkham, Chayanit Thongphuet, Sunisa Bunchu, and Sukanya Bunchu. Khun Bernard Mueller congratulated all of them with soft dolls.   Five students; i.e. Phuwasi Nathan, Phakin Laorueng, Waraphu Saelim, Thithat Rammanijirakul, and Sunisa Bunchu, received their certificates of good performance from Rev. Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak, the School’s Acting Licensee.   On this occasion, Dr. Somros Phonglamai MD from Bangkok Hospital Pattaya’s Rehabilitation Center was our special resource person who shared his knowledge, experience, and expertise, with guidance to parents of kids with different types of disabilities.  Thank you and best wishes to all concerned..

Visiting Pattaya Dolphinarium

Thirty-one kindergartners of Sotpattana School for the Deaf visited the Pattaya Dolphinarium, along with 13 teachers and staffers, and enjoyed the marvelous shows of dolphins and seals with great talents and ability to communicate their love with the trainers. The children were all happy as their world and learning abilities have been enriched. Thanks to the support from the budget for the 15-year Free Education Project from the Office of the Private Education Commission, the Thai Ministry of Education, as well as our sponsor Jean-Marc Vienne, from Granges (Veveyse), Switzerland, who is also a FAB member and has offered seven meals to the children since 2020..

I-Love-Reading, 2023 Academic Year

In the second study term of Academic Year 2023, Sotpattana School for the Deaf organized an “I-Love-Reading” activity in promotion of students’ interest in reading and interpretation. Participants were encouraged to further upgrade of their skills from reading simple words and images in their daily lives.

Walk Rally 2024

Students of Sotpattana School for the Deaf participated in the Walk Rally 2024 activity on 12th January 2024 going through the two learning stations, i.e. Physical and Intellectual Skills.  Following the brief opening ceremony by Rev. Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak, the School’s Acting Licensee, the two teams of Yellow and Pink enjoyed each fun-filled and challenging station without having to compete with each other. Thanks to all concerned for the organization of the program.
