1st Board Meeting in 2024

Sotpattana School for the Deaf organized its first executive board meeting for the academic year 2024 on Friday 14th June 2024 at the administrative meeting room of the Pattaya Orphanage with Rev. Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak presiding over the event. During their discussion, the board members also approved the annual subsidy for the school.

Comforting the Yodsuwans

The administration, staff personnel, and children of the Pattaya Orphanage and Sotpattana School for the Deaf, along with friends and the former colleagues of Khun Jaroon, offered prayers and sent positive energy to cheer the Yodsuwan Family up during the illness of Mrs. Suansawan and to comfort them at her passing on Monday 10th June 2024. Our representatives traveled to Phitsanulok province to join the funeral during the week and at the cremation on 13th June. May Mother Suansawan rest in peace.. May her loved ones go through this difficult time with courage..

Getting to Know Plants

Preschool kids at the Pattaya Orphanage got to know plants and vegetables in our garden during the outdoor session where they got closer to nature and learned about agriculture. A Fun-Filled Morning

Just before some older kids need to travel back to their boarding schools in preparation for the new academic year, a rainy but fun-filled morning was organized for all the children from preschool level up to vocational training. The three teams competed in three games, including Balloon-Belly Race, Balls Train, and Egg-Spoon Race by Teachers Nat and Marie. They were also competing freestyle in the Musical Chairs game. Everyone had a treat of Hokkaido Soft Cream served from the D Sunday mobile ice cream truck. Thanks to the organizers as well as the Malstrom Family in USA for the contribution towards this special stormy morning.

3-in-1 Celebration

Members of the Pattaya Orphanage and Sotpattana School for the Deaf celebrated together the three special occasions; i.e. the 25th anniversary of final vows of Sister Kongkham Surasiang, the honoring of 33 school-aged kids and young adults with outstanding grades and conducts, perseverance, and responsibilities in their studies and assignments, along with the May Day celebration for all staff members.. Reviving Teacher’s Spirit

Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak, Acting Licensee of Sotpattana School for the Deaf, along with Mrs. Angkana Kamnoedthon, the school director, travelled to Sriharuthai School, Khlung District, Chanthaburi Province to share their views as invited resource persons on the topic of Teacher’s Spirit and Future Trends in Catholic Education, during Sriharuthai School’s program on Spiritual Revival for Teachers.

Self-Care & Depression

The group of 11 preteens up to young adults in the care of the Pattaya Orphanage took part in the special activity with an introduction to teen depression, and self-care, organized by the team of a volunteer psychologist Chutikan Inthim. On this occasion, they also went through a preliminary mental health assessment with our resource persons. Thanks and best wishes to all concerned, esp. Khun Chutikan who further supported our children as well as disabled persons with a cash donation..
