Small-but-Powerful Flee Market

Sotpattana School for the Deaf organized a Small-but-Powerful Flee Market on the last day of the first school term for the academic year 2024-2025 with several food stalls and souvenir booths, all promoting the green world and environmental concern.. Students of Levels 1-3 showcased and sold products from their class work, e.g. oyster mushrooms and hand-painted cloth bags designed from their imagination. Rev. Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak presided over the opening of the lovely event and greeted parents as well as children until they took their kids home for the mid-year break. Kids of the Orphanage learned to use coins and small bank notes to buy delicacies like sunny eggs, buttered corn, herbal-steamed meat balls, Thai desserts, Roselle juice and traditional ice cream.. Month of the Rosary 2024

Members of the Pattaya Orphanage, with representatives of toddlers and older kids as well as staff, along with teachers and boarders of our Deaf School, for marking the start of the month of the Holy Rosary 2024 with prayers for our past and present benefactors, safety and progress of our children and disabled persons in our care, and the unity of our personnel.. On this occasion, each and every department offered flowers to our Mother Mary in front of her statue..

1st I-Love-Reading 1/2024

Sotpattana School for the Deaf organized the 1st I-Love-Reading Activity for the first study term of Year 2024-2025 with two learning stations on Thai alphabets.. The first station was for alphabets numbers 1-20 and the other station presented alphabets numbers 21-40. Our kindergartners had fun in learning about these letters and symbols.

Small 50th Birthday Party

Only a small event was organized on the actual 50th birthday anniversary of the Pattaya Orphanage due to the inconvenient rainy season, while a proper celebration will be held on 14th March 2025.  Rev. Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak presided over the blessing of the recently-renovated 5-storey building, which included our Sotpattana School for the Deaf, and thanked all the benefactors for the thoughtful support during the past five decades.  We held a memorial service for our co-founder, the late Father Raymond Allyn Brennan CSsR on his recent 21st anniversary of passing with representatives of present and former management, personnel, children and staffers, along with current benefactors, placing fresh floral garlands in front of his image.  Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier Kritsada Sukkaphat then led the expression of our gratitude and appreciation towards Bishop Emeritus Thienchai Samanchit, the co-founder and the first president of our home.  Thanks to neighbors, former staff members and residents, the Christa-Leela Band, and all supporters to this event, with financial, labor, moral, and in-kind assistance.. Please accept our sincere thanks.. May all of you be abundantly blessed..

Comforting the Nonthasuwan Family

Representatives of the Pattaya Orphanage and Sotpattana School for the Deaf took turn in joining the nightly wake for Pancrasio Panya Nonthasuwan, aged 75, an elder brother of our Mother Superior – Sister Supattra Nonthasuwan, at Saint Paul’s Church, Chachoengsao province since he passed away on Sunday 15th September 2024, as well as at the burial at the cemetery of Saint Paul’s Church on 19th September 2024.. May Pancrasio Panya rest in peace and members of his family be comforted..

Honoring Mother Mary

For the upcoming birthday anniversary of Mother Mary, the patroness of Sotpattana School for the Dear, an activity is organized sooner than usual because the actual day falls on Sunday 8th September. Preschool kids of Sotpattana School for the Deaf and the Pattaya Orphanage, along with some of the older kids, teachers, and caregivers, honor Our Lady with prayers, hymns, garlands, and flowers.. May Mother Mary intercede for the wellbeing of our children, disabled persons, staff members, and benefactors..

Healthy Kids #1/2024

Sotpattana School for the Deaf organized a Healthy Kids Project activity with 2 learning stations, i.e. Good & Nutritious Food, and Food to be Avoided, which included the rejection of intoxicants. Each student participated in both stations and took part in the Q&A session, as well as serving themselves with fresh vegetable salad from the buffet spread..
