Honorary Doctorates

Sotpattana School for the Deaf was very proud of our administrators, i.e. Rev. Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak, the School’s Acting Licensee and Manger, as well as Mrs. Angkana Kamnoedthon, the School Director, when the European International University (EIU), Paris, led by Founder and Director General Dr. Edward Roy Krishnan, awarded them the Honorary Doctorates and the front of our school became the venue of the degree conferral event. Fr. Michael was honored with a Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa (Litt.D., h.c.) which is a distinguished honorary degree awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to society, particularly in the humanities and public service. Unlike academic doctorates earned through research and scholarship, this degree honors a recipient’s lifelong achievements, societal impact, and dedication to human welfare and culture. It is among the highest honors an institution can bestow, celebrating the broad influence and profound legacy of the recipient in their respective field. Director Angkana was at the same occasion, awarded with a Doctor of Humanitarian Service in Special Education, Honoris Causa, (D.H.S.Ed., h.c.), which is an honorary degree recognizing individuals for their outstanding contributions to special education, particularly in humanitarian efforts. It honors the recipient’s dedication to enhancing the lives and educational opportunities of students with special needs, emphasizing their commitment to compassion, service, and advocacy. On this occasion, the EIU presented Dr. Maurice Dimmock with a trophy and appreciation for his support. Dr. Krishnan also marked his upcoming birthday anniversary with a presentation of his cheque to our school. Many happy returns of the day to you.. Thanks and best wishes to you, your EIU Team, and all concerned..
